More Poems cause I have no idea what to post...:)

Heres another poem and you have to figure out what they are describing:

The creature ate its words -- it seemed to me
strangely weird -- when I heard this wonder:
that it had devoured -- the song of a man.
A thief in the thickness of night -- gloriously mouthed
the source of knowledge -- but the thief was not
the least bit wiser -- for the words in his mouth.

Haha i'll let you think about that for a while and then ill tell you what it is later;)

Where the Sidewalk ends

There is a place where the sidewalk ends
And before the street begins,
And there the grass grows soft and white,
And there the sun burns crimson bright,
And there the moon-bird rests from his flight
To cool in the peppermint wind.

Let us leave this place where the smoke blows black
And the dark street winds and bends.
Past the pits where the asphalt flowers grow
We shall walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And watch where the chalk-white arrows go
To the place where the sidewalk ends.

Yes we'll walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And we'll go where the chalk-white arrows go,
For the children, they mark, and the children, they know
The place where the sidewalk ends.

I love this poem because we really dont know where the sidewalk ends

The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

I love this poem too mainly because of the last sentence... "I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference." That quote is one of my favorites because I think everyone should take the road less traveled by, even if it means standing out, it will make the world a much more colorful and unique place, instead of a bunch of clones:)
"I must do what others wont, so I can have what others don't." Thats another one of my favorite quotes... my brother has that quote taped up on his ceiling above his bed and I'v always loved that phrase:D I totally agree with it too:)

Still I Rise by Maya Angelou
You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I'll rise.

Does my sassiness upset you?
Why are you beset with gloom?
'Cause I walk like I've got oil wells
Pumping in my living room.

Just like moons and like suns,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high,
Still I'll rise.

Did you want to see me broken?
Bowed head and lowered eyes?
Shoulders falling down like teardrops.
Weakened by my soulful cries.

Does my haughtiness offend you?
Don't you take it awful hard
'Cause I laugh like I've got gold mines
Diggin' in my own back yard.

You may shoot me with your words,
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may kill me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I'll rise.

Out of the huts of history's shame
I rise
Up from a past that's rooted in pain
I rise
I'm a black ocean, leaping and wide,
Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.
Leaving behind nights of terror and fear
I rise
Into a daybreak that's wondrously clear
I rise
Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,
I am the dream and the hope of the slave.
I rise
I rise
I rise.
I love that poem... the connections Maya makes with the "I rise" and a thing in real life that actually rises like "Into a daybreak thats wondrously clear, I rise" because a daybreak is like the sun rising so even though its not saying this to me its like shes saying she rises with the sun too:)
The first one was a bookworm:)
Ha ha I so didnt get that  one at first:P

Two Dead Boys Get Up To Fight

Random Poem:
Free admission, pay at the door
Pull up a seat and sit on the floor
I'll tell you a story I know nothing about
You enjoy it as you sit there and pout:
One fine day in the middle of the night,
Two dead boys got up to fight.
Back-to-back they faced one another,
Drew their swords and shot each other.
One was blind and the other couldn't see,
So they chose a dummy for a referee.
A blind man went to see fair play,
A dumb man went to shout "hooray!"
A deaf policeman heard the noise,
And came and shot the two dead boys.
A paralysed donkey walking by,
Kicked the copper in the eye,
Sent him through a rubber wall,
Into a dry ditch and drowned them all.
If you don't believe this lie is true,
Ask the blind man -- he saw it too!
Thats a awesome random poem that my friend nicole showed me
I love how everything is opposites and it really messes with your brain:)
It makes sense to me for some reason though...:D

I Got my room done!

For all the years in my life I have never gotten my room painted...
But a couple weeks ago I finally did!
My bedroom is shaped really awkwardly...
Its shaped like this...
-------------------------------------
l..............................................l
------........................................l
****l........................................l
****l........................................l
****l........................................l
****--------------------------------
Ha ha... i guess that works:P
So i did the longest wall lime green and another wall lime green... its a very bright lime green... its Like this color
And all the other walls I did purple :D
Except my bedroom used to be a kitchen so i still have a counter, sink, and top draws in my bed Room so we haven't gotten that out yet or painted that wall:P
For some reason there was carpet in the kitchen though....
In the top right corner i have my loft bed there...
Along the top wall i have black cork board to hang all of my artwork on but the cork board keeps falling down... good thing I haven't put any artwork up yet:P
On the opposite wall (the bottom wall) is where the counter, sink, and top draws are...
When I take the counter and all that stuff out I'm going to have the sink in the bottom left corner... sadly i couldn't get rid of the sink...
And in the bottom right corner I'm going to get a cushion chair to go there because I don't have a spot where I can just sit and read or draw because I have a loft bed and its about a foot and a half from the ceiling:P
So I guess that's all I can think of for now :3
